My parents began vacationing at Baycliff more than 50 years ago, driving up from New Jersey for two weeks every summer. I have fond memories of deep-sea fishing, hiking, and sightseeing, but my favorite activity was always skipping rocks into the sea—quite a challenge with the waves, wind, and seaweed!

In 1973, when the property went up for sale, my dad bought it for my mom without hesitation.  From then on, we stayed for two months at a time in the cottage, which wasn’t much larger than the cabins back then. One summer, we even brought along all seven of our cats and a raccoon I was fostering—definitely one of the more adventurous trips!

The pictures to the left show the original Baycliff cottage. The current cottage was built in 2001. The Guest House was one of the original buildings when we purchased the property, and my dad built the Pines shortly after, modeled after the Guest House.

For over 40 years, we’ve been renting out the cabins, and many of our guests have returned year after year, becoming part of our Baycliff family. Until 2019, my mom—who loved walking the carriage roads and around Jordan Pond—spent her summers here at Baycliff, taking care of the cabins and guests, creating wonderful memories for everyone who visited.

Every year, I continue to make improvements to ensure our guests feel at home and have a comfortable, enjoyable stay.

The picture below is of me, my two daughters, and my mother, whose legacy of hospitality continues to live on at Baycliff.
