Baycliff:

Baycliff gets its name from the 15 foot cliff that overlooks Frenchman Bay. There's a deck that overlooks the bay and stairs that leads down to the beach. Baycliff faces north-east and provides amazing sunrises and sunsets. Baycliff truly is a beautiful and peaceful place. If you like to paint or draw, the sun is perfect from 30 minutes after sunrise to 30 minutes before sunset. You can watch lobster boats and many birds leave in the morning and come back in the afternoon. If you like, you can gather mussels at low tide. Or skip rocks into the ocean anytime!

Location:

Baycliff is located on the north coast of Mt. Desert Island and is 2.5 miles from the Acadia National Park visitor center and 5 miles from Bar Harbor. For those that like to ride bicycles, Rt. 3 has recently been renovated and now has a large shoulder in both directions, making it easy to ride into the park or town.
