Find Your Perfect Stay at Baycliff
Whether you prefer the comforts of a traditional home, beautiful views of Frenchman Bay, or a secluded cabin tucked among the pines, Baycliff offers three distinct lodging experiences on one beautiful coastal property near Acadia National Park.
Each dwelling has its own character, advantages, and price point, making it easy to find the right fit for your vacation style, comfort preferences, and budget.
The Comforts of Home
With Spectacular Views
Baycliff offers the conveniences and comforts of a traditional, insulated home, complete with heating and air conditioning for more consistent indoor temperatures regardless of the weather. With more living space and the comforts of a fully equipped house, it's an excellent choice for guests who prefer a more traditional vacation rental experience, particularly during Maine's cooler evenings or warmer summer days. Best for: Guests who appreciate extra space, climate-controlled comfort, and the conveniences of a traditional home.
A Cozy Cabin with Scenic Coastal Views
The Guest House combines the nostalgic charm of a traditional Maine summer cabin with the conveniences of a well-equipped vacation rental. Cozy, comfortable, and full of character, it offers a more rustic coastal experience than the main house. Large picture windows frame the surrounding woods and glimpses of Frenchman Bay, while screened windows on either side welcome refreshing coastal breezes. Window fans provide additional airflow on warmer days, while a wood stove and tower heaters offer warmth on cooler evenings. As a traditional uninsulated cabin without central heating or air conditioning, indoor temperatures naturally vary with the weather, adding to its authentic Maine summer cabin character. One of the Guest House's greatest advantages is its view of Frenchman Bay and its convenient location just approximately 50 yards from the shared cliff deck, where guests can relax and enjoy sweeping views of the bay, offshore islands, and distant mountains. Best for: Guests who appreciate traditional Maine cabin charm, scenic bay views, refreshing coastal breezes, and easy access to the cliff deck.
Nestled among the trees, The Pines offers a peaceful, more secluded setting for guests who appreciate extra privacy and the tranquility of the Maine woods. Cozy, comfortable, and full of character, it offers the nostalgic charm of a traditional Maine summer cabin with the conveniences of a well-equipped vacation rental. Large picture windows bring the beauty of the surrounding pines indoors, while screened windows on either side welcome fresh coastal air and natural breezes. The Pines is nearly identical to the Guest House in layout, furnishings, and amenities. The main difference is its location. Rather than overlooking Frenchman Bay, The Pines is tucked among the trees, offering a quieter, more private woodland setting. It sits approximately 125 yards from the shared cliff deck — about 75 yards farther than the Guest House — where guests can enjoy sweeping views of Frenchman Bay, offshore islands, and distant mountains. For guests who prefer a secluded woodland setting over a direct water view, The Pines offers excellent value, typically costing approximately $150 less than the Guest House, without sacrificing the amenities and comforts of its sister cabin. Best for: Budget-conscious travelers, nature lovers, and guests who appreciate privacy, a peaceful wooded setting, and the same cozy cabin amenities at a lower price.
A Note About Our Cabins
The Guest House and The Pines are nearly identical in layout, furnishings, and amenities, but each offers a slightly different experience. The Guest House features views of Frenchman Bay and is closer to the shared cliff deck, while The Pines offers a more secluded woodland setting with added privacy. For guests who don't need a view of the bay directly from their cabin, The Pines offers excellent value at approximately $150 less than the Guest House. Both provide the same cozy, well-equipped traditional Maine cabin experience.
Three Unique Stays, One Beautiful Coastal Setting
All three accommodations share the Baycliff property and access to the cliff deck overlooking Frenchman Bay. Whether you choose the climate-controlled comforts of the main house, the bay views and convenient deck access of the Guest House, or the secluded woodland setting and savings offered by The Pines, you'll have a welcoming home base for exploring Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island.
The choice comes down to what matters most to you: traditional home comforts, a water view, privacy, or value.
